Join a multi-generational group of women who have a passion for learning, teaching, serving, and developing lasting friendships with one another. The women’s ministry of FBC carries out the mission of our church through local and international service projects, Bible study, and special events that invite others to experience the transforming power of Jesus in their home and across the world.
Ministries, Small Groups, & Service Opportunities
Join us as we work closely with the Department of Human Services and the Foster Care system to reach children and families who are hurting, right here in Hot Springs. The ministry provides care bags with essentials for children who have been pulled from their home, childcare for young ones awaiting placement, and assistance to those who fight for the protection of the innocent day in and day out. We also at times offer mentoring to young mothers who are trying to reclaim custody of their children. It is truly a unique opportunity to be a light in a very dark world, seeking to care for children whose lives are altered in a moment. It is necessary to complete a background check and provide paperwork before beginning in this ministry. Meetings and tasks performed as needed.

ASMSA is a residential high school for Juniors and Seniors here in Hot Springs. These students are living away from home for the first time, and our ministry exists to reach out to the students, showing them the love of Christ while they are here. Once a month, we coordinate trays of baked goods that are delivered to the school’s study areas. We also provide gift bags to the students who have visited our church. These bags are filled with snacks as well as items that students can use while living in the dorms. We would love to have you join us in preparing food and bags for our visits. This is a wonderful opportunity to give these kids something that reminds them of home, offering them a place to grow in their faith, and showing them that we care!

The RISE Ministry was formed to maintain regular contact with the homebound women of our church. Monthly visits with these ladies give us the opportunity to stay aware of their needs and to keep them updated with happenings in the Women’s Ministry and in our church. Be Responsive. Let her know you’re listening and that you care. Be Intuitive. Listen for needs she may have that we might fill. Be Sensitive. Use your best judgement to consider the length of your visit. Be Encouraging. Use scriptures and words that will reflect God’s love. The ladies who participate in this uplifting ministry deliver flowers and baked goods to two women (as assigned) once per month. A card from the Women’s Ministry is included with each visit.

This is a support group for caregivers of the homebound. It can be challenging, and sometimes lonely, to be a full-time caregiver for someone else. We want to help make sure you are taking care of your own heart so that you are able to better care for the needs of others.

Because missions are such an integral part of who we are as a church, the focus of Women on Mission is to promote awareness of missions endeavors world-wide. In addition to praying for missionaries and providing missions studies each year, the group also uses projects to involve the church in contributing to missions in practical ways. The Pure Water, Pure Love is one of our yearly projects which provides water filters and clean sources of water for missionaries who are serving in the field. This groups meets the fourth Thursday of each month from 10:00 – 11:30am in Room 219, facilitated by Wanda Thorpe and Janie Woods.

The objective of this ministry is to help ladies who are new members of FBC Hot Springs to feel welcomed, included, and loved. The process begins as soon as someone joins the church. She is greeted and welcomed by a representative of Women’s Ministry and is presented a gift bag that includes a devotional, WM brochure, and other items. First Welcome luncheons are hosted by this ministry several times during the year, and invitations are sent to all ladies who have joined the church since the last luncheon. Each new member has the opportunity to meet all the ministry leaders and to hear about the many ways one can become involved in Women’s Ministry.

The Women’s Ministry hosts several events throughout the year. Our largest and most well-attended event is “Evening of Grace”, which welcomes the women of FBC as well as the Hot Springs community. The Special Events Ministry undertakes the organizing, planning, coordinating, and carrying out of our events. It is challenging, but gratifying, to be able to minister to our church and the community through these events. If your interests include organizing, menu planning, or decorating, we need you on our team
This Year’s Events:
August 13-20 – “Come On In” Carnival
September 18 – Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner?
December 7 – Evening of Grace
