Lee grew up in a family of church musicians, and recognized a calling to ministry that kept him involved in music, discipleship, and missions throughout high school. Despite the best efforts of Ouachita Baptist University to turn him into a “serious” composer, Lee spent most of his college years working in churches, trying to become a jazz guitarist, and arranging music for student shows. Lee graduated from OBU in 1994 and went on to earn a Master of Music degree from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in 1999. Prior to arriving at FBC Hot Springs in August, 2013, Lee served two other churches: First Baptist Church of Hope and First Baptist Church of Marion. He has been a leader in Arkansas Baptist State Convention events and ministries including JoyWorks and PraiseWorks worship arts camps and the Arkansas Master’Singers.
Lee lives with three women: his wife, Elizabeth, and their daughters, Garner and Cadence. Elizabeth is a Licensed Professional Counselor and full-time partner in Lee’s ministry. In their free time, the whole family enjoys fitness, traveling, cooking, eating, and Netflix (but not necessarily in that order).
